Update - We are currently working on a solution for Monta users who have Wallbox charge points and a tax refund subscription. We are making updates to the way that Monta is taking meter readings from the charge points.

Currently, we have turned off the automatic tax refunds for all Wallbox charge points, while we update our system. We expect that the problem will be resolved within 2 weeks.

Within that time, we expect that we can turn on the automatic tax refunds. We would also have calculated how much tax refunds Wallbox users are missing from their tax refund providers and the “missing” tax refunds will be issued.

IMPORTANT! Please note that we are keeping track of all meter readings, and you are going to be refunded for all kWh charged with Monta. You need to continue charging with Monta, so we can record your charging activity. Based on this, you are going to be refunded.

Monitoring - We have gotten a changelog from Wallbox where they write that they have changed the meter reporting in firmware version 5.13.x:


Now the meter values on the StartTransaction and StopTransaction will not be reset to zero on each new transaction. The internal meter will be accumulative.


This means that there first transaction after the firmware upgrade will show a completely wrong kWh charged. After this everything will work normally.

This also means that we now recommend that you update your charge point to the latest wallbox firmware.

Måler aflæsninger starter nu ikke længere ved 0 for hver transaktion. Fremover er all måler aflæsninger akkumulerende.


Dette betyder at den første ladning efter en firmware upgrade viser et forkert (og meget stort) antal kWh. Derefter vil alt fungere normalt.

Dette betyder også at vi nu anbefaler at du opdaterer din wallbox ladestander til den seneste firmware.

Identified - Wallbox has acknowledged issues with their latest firmware release v. 5.13.11 on their charge point models, regarding wrong meter readings & degraded performance with charges.

Log files & charge history data show wrong readings.
Tax-refund subscription payouts after charges on Wallbox units via. Monta may not work while this issue is present.

Wallbox is currently working on releasing a fix for this issue, at the moment.

At this point in time we do not advise to update the firmware on your Wallbox charge point models to the newest v. 5.13.11, as you may experience degraded performance.

Monitoring - The upgrade was complete around 13:20 (CET) and caused most charge points to be offline for approximately 20 minutes. Since 13:40 everything has been running normally. Since this is a major upgrade of our OCPP service we will keep on monitoring the systems more intensively than normally for the next couple of days.

Investigating - Monday November 28. we will do a major upgrade of our OCPP service to improve stability of connections to charge points.

This will include replacing all OCPP servers. In the transition period there will be a short outage of connections for all charge points while the connect to the new servers.

Identified - We can see that charge point messages related to charges and state of the charge point are heavily delayed on Zaptec's central servers (30 minutes or more). This leads to the Monta app not being able to report a charge as successful - even though the charge might actually be running.

We have reported these findings to Zaptec and are awaiting a fix from them.

Identified - ABB, model: Terra AC Wallbox is experiencing an issue with starting of planned charges immediately.

Problem & correct sequence:
The issue happens when you setup the manual charge in the incorrect order/sequence.

The correct sequence: Insert the charging cable in your vehicle, afterwards swipe the planned charge in the Monta app, which will result in the charge to start when planned/appropriate.

Note: Native Scheduling is responsible for saving the charging data, locally in the memory of the charge point.

Investigating - We are currently working on the early signup for PowerBank for Monta users who have a charge point and a tax refund subscription.

We will release it in the app inside each charge point’s settings. We expect that the problem will be resolved within the next few days, but will be released as soon as the problem is fixed.

IMPORTANT! Please note that the PowerBank is a beta project that is being under development.

You will be able to help the imbalances suffered by the grid by pausing the ongoing charging sessions for a very brief period of time, while getting Monta credits in your wallet!

After this we see an increase in failed charges. We are investigating that in close cooperation with Zaptec.
